About Me

Dr. Ali Mahmood is a board-certified surgeon specializing in colon and rectal surgery. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2003, followed by a general surgery residency at Trinity Health Oakland/Wayne State University. He then completed advanced training in colon and rectal surgery at Corewell Health – Grand Rapids/Michigan State University. Dr. Mahmood holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is an active member of the Houston Methodist Lynda K. & David M. Underwood Center for Digestive Health and the Houston Methodist Dr. Mary and Ron Neal Cancer Center. Dr. Mahmood also serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Houston Methodist Scholars Academic Institute. He speaks English, Punjabi, Spanish, and Urdu.
