Bone Density

A bone density exam, also known as bone densitometry or dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA or DEXA), is a diagnostic test used to measure the strength and density of bones. It primarily evaluates the mineral content and density of bone tissue, providing information about bone health and the risk of fractures.

CT

A CT scan, short for computed tomography scan, is a medical imaging technique that uses specialized X-ray equipment to create detailed cross-sectional images of the inside of the body. It produces a series of thin, two-dimensional slices or images of the body part being examined. These images provide more detailed information than conventional X-rays and can show the internal structures, organs, tissues, and bones with greater clarity. CT scans are commonly used to diagnose various medical conditions, including injuries, tumors, infections, and internal bleeding, among others.

General X-Ray

A general X-ray exam is a common medical imaging procedure used to create images of the inside of the body. It utilizes X-rays, a form of electromagnetic radiation, to produce pictures of bones, organs, and tissues. General X-ray exams are commonly used to diagnose a variety of medical conditions and injuries, including fractures, joint dislocations, infections, lung conditions, digestive issues, dental problems, and more.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology (IR) is a medical specialty that uses imaging techniques, such as X-rays, ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI, to guide minimally invasive procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Mammography

Mammography is a specialized medical imaging technique used for the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer and other breast abnormalities. It involves taking X-ray images of the breast tissue to detect early signs of cancer, such as tumors or micro calcifications.

MRI

MRI is a non-invasive medical imaging technique uses powerful magnets, radio waves, and a computer to generate detailed images of the inside of the body. MRI provides high-resolution images of soft tissues, organs, muscles, nerves, and other structures without using ionizing radiation like X-rays or CT scans.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty that utilizes small amounts of radioactive materials, known as radiopharmaceuticals or radiotracers, to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions. It involves the use of specialized imaging techniques that detect the gamma rays emitted by these radioactive substances as they interact with tissues and organs in the body.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound, also known as sonography, is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of the inside of the body. The images provide valuable information about the size, shape, texture, and movement of internal organs and tissues. Ultrasound imaging is widely used for a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Speech

Our Speech-Language Pathologist are able to perform MBS studies, also known as a Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) study. It is a specialized medical imaging procedure used to evaluate swallowing function and detect abnormalities in the throat and esophagus. The exam involves the patient swallowing a controlled amount of barium contrast material, typically mixed with food and/or liquid of varying consistencies, while being monitored by a fluoroscopy machine.
