For the past 14 years, Dr. Parkar has been practicing as a board certified family physician. She is currently practicing at Gentle Primary Care in Sugar Land. Parkar completed her residency in 2007 at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas with departmental distinction. She was awarded the fellowship by The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in 2017. She recently served as the family medicine medical director at a federally qualified health care center and is chair of Family practice at OakBend Medical Center in Richmond, Texas. Dr. Parkar cares for patient of all ages but specially enjoys treating chronic medical conditions like hypertension, diabetes, thyroid illness, psychiatric illness and HIV medicine. She places special emphasis on preventive health and treats various gynecological disorders in females. She also cares for urgent care patients. Originally from India, Parkar grew up in the Middle East and is fluent in Hindi and Urdu. Her faith and diverse background has helped her appreciate cultural sensitivity and to provide compassionate care for all patients. Her family practice specialty has helped her achieve a perfect balance with her professional and personal life. She is married and has 2 young children.
