Dr. Vivek Kushwaha is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in adult cervical and lumbar degenerative conditions. He earned his medical degree from UT Medical School San Antonio and completed his residency at UCLA Medical Center, followed by a spine surgery fellowship at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center. Dr. Kushwaha has served as Chief of Spine Surgery at UT Medical School and Memorial Hermann Hospital and co-directs the Spine Fellowship. A pioneer in Houston, he was the first to perform kyphoplasty and lumbar artificial disk replacement. He is also an active consultant for major medical companies and has published and presented extensively in his field.
