Dr. Hernaez was born and raised in the Chicago area. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received her medical education from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. She graduated from residency training in 1998, at Temple University in Philadelphia. She is Board Certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
