Dr. Owen Capocyan is a Board-Certified Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine specialist who has been practicing in the Fort Bend County of Texas since 2009.
Dr. Capocyan, received his undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and his medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, Philippines. He moved to the United States and completed his residency training in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University Health and Sciences Center. He later pursued and finished his Geriatrics Fellowship in 2008, becoming the first fellow in Geriatrics to graduate from the Texas Tech University system.
His vision of providing excellent care for the elderly population inspired him to help developed the Senior Care Behavioral Unit (SBHU) at OakBend Medical Center Hospital, a psychiatric in- patient unit solely for seniors and the Acute Care Unit for the Elderly (ACE Unit), a specialized medical in-patient unit catering to the elderly population. He is currently serving as the Medical Director of the Senior Behavioral Health Unit and has served as the Medical Director of the ACE Unit since its inception in December of 2015 to December of 2019. He also holds position at the University of North Texas, Department of Internal Medicine as an assistant clinical professor for the core Geriatric curriculum.
