Dr. Abdi earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and has cared for patients in a variety of healthcare settings across the United States and internationally. Before joining OakBend Medical Center, Dr. Abdi gained experience in primary care, internal medicine, behavioral health, community health, and oncology research, caring for patients with both acute and chronic conditions. Working in primary care reinforced his belief that empathy and clear communication are essential to helping patients better understand and manage their health. Fluent in English, Arabic, and Somali, Dr. Abdi enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds and helping bridge cultural and language barriers. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing soccer and served as captain of his medical school’s soccer team, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and dedication on and off the field.
